WEBINAR LIVE
When space transforms industry: technologies and opportunities of the space economy

During this webinar, participants will explore the space economy as a driver of innovation and competitiveness for the entire industrial system, extending far beyond the aerospace sector alone. Space is becoming an increasingly accessible environment and a new frontier of development for technologies, skills, and industrial supply chains.

The relationship between space and terrestrial industry is bidirectional: technologies, expertise, and processes developed on Earth enable new missions, while adapting to the extreme conditions of space allows companies to qualify solutions that generate value and competitiveness in terrestrial markets as well.

Drawing on his experience at ESA, Tommaso Ghidini will delve into:

  • space as a market: actors and trajectories of the space economy, spanning new private operators, European strategic autonomy, and the upcoming milestones of the Artemis program, starting with Artemis III in 2027;
  • innovation between Earth and space: how technologies, materials, and production processes circulate between space missions and terrestrial industry;
  • an expanding supply chain: the opportunities opening up for non-space companies and how space can become a testing ground to develop and qualify new skills and solutions.
