In this meeting, participants will discuss with Lucio Caracciolo the latest developments in China, with a focus on the breakthrough in the People's Liberation Army and the global ambitions of its currency. 
The purges at the top of the military, including the investigation for “serious violations of discipline and law” against General Zhang Youxia and other senior officers, will be analysed, reflecting an increasing centralisation of power and questions about the cohesion of the army.

Next, he will address how Beijing is pushing to internationalise the Yuan, with the aim of challenging the dollar's hegemony and increasing its global financial influence.
