In this session, participants will have the opportunity to explore the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence, starting from one of the most pressing questions of our time: if creativity has long been considered a defining human trait, what happens when machines become capable of generating art, music, and innovative solutions? Drawing from the mathematical principles underlying creative thinking, Marcus du Sautoy, mathematician and professor at the University of Oxford, will illustrate how machine learning is redefining the concept of creativity. He will examine AI’s potential to support, amplify, or challenge human imagination. By the end of the session, participants will have gained: • a deeper understanding of the concept of creativity and its mathematical foundations • a clear overview of AI’s advancements and potential in generating creative content • critical thinking tools to assess the role of humans in an era of increasing automation and artificial intelligence.
